2021 GROWING THE ARTS TOGETHER MURAL
ACAC - KAB
CHAZZ MILLER
Mr. Brown served on the Design Committee for the 2021 Alma Community Art Center Mural, which was painted by renowned Detroit mural artist, Chazz Miller. This project which was planned by the Alma Community Art Center and Keep Alma Beautiful, was over a year in the making. In May, AHS art students promoted the project by painting butterflies to be displayed throughout downtown Alma. The project began with a July 24th reception at the ACAC which unveiled the final mural image. Preparation of the wall and transferring the image began immediately thereafter. Painting began on July 27th, as Miller and project manager Amy Wellington coordinated community involvement. Several AHS art students participated throughout the project by blocking in color areas, outlining details, and painting their own large butterflies or adding miniature thumb print butterflies.
Chazz Miller completed the mural, entitled "Growing the Arts Together," in mid August.
